COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up nine indictments April 30.
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.
A “certain person” charge can be brought against an individual who has been previously convicted of a felony and is subsequently found in possession of a weapon.
The individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
Dayamara D. Diaz
Dayamara Diaz, 32, of Villas, was arrested March 30 for driving while intoxicated (DWI). The presence of a 7-year-old child in the car led to an indictment for endangering the welfare of a child, second degree.
James Dehainaut
James Dehainaut, 20, of Swainton, was indicted on 11 counts Dec. 4, 2018, related to arson, burglary and theft incidents in October 2018. This week, a new six-count indictment added to his difficulties. Dehainaut faces two counts of burglary, one of theft over $500 and one of receiving stolen property, each count is in the third degree. The fact that he involved two individuals below the age of 17 also adds a second-degree count for using a juvenile in the commission of a crime along with third-degree conspiracy.
Carlos Camacho
Carlos Camacho was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, cocaine, related to an incident in Middle Township in November 2018.
William J. Atkinson
William Atkinson, 36, faces a fourth-degree count for obstructing the administration of law. Police said that Atkinson tried to prevent a public servant from an official function related to a law enforcement investigation.
Kieran P. Kelleher
Kieran Kelleher was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, amphetamine, related to an incident in Woodbine in September 2018.
Matthew R. Eroclani
Matthew Eroclani, 33, of Swainton, was indicted for filing a false report, third degree. Police said that Eroclani provided false information to law enforcement seeking to implicate a female victim in the commission of a crime.
Kyle L. Middleton
Kyle Middleton, 27, of Villas, faces a fourth-degree count for possession with intent to distribute marijuana. The fact that Middleton was in possession of a BB handgun added a more serious second-degree count for possession of a weapon during the commission of a CDS crime. Middleton’s 2014 conviction for aggravated assault also led to another count, this one for certain person not to have a weapon, second degree.
Caliph M. Manley
Caliph Manley, 41, of Wildwood, was indicted on three separate counts of second-degree sexual assault, along with one count of endangering the welfare of a child, second degree. The assaults involved a child under the age of 13 and occurred between December 2017 and January 2018, according to the indictment.
Manley was indicted one year ago, April 2018, for second-degree sexual contact and child endangerment, also second degree. Manley has been lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Facility since that earlier indictment.
Christopher Kane
Christopher Kane, of Dennis Township, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin.
