COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 16 indictments April 12. The abbreviation CDS is used for controlled dangerous substance.
Ronray Harris, Dana Gilroy
Middle Township Police’s reestablished Street Crime Unit observed what appeared to be a drug transaction in the Rio Grande shopping area in February. Police interceded and arrested Ronray Harris, 38, and Dana Gilroy, 24, both of Rio Grande. Both were indicted for possession of a CDS, third degree. In addition Harris was indicted for distribution of a CDS, heroin, also a third degree crime.
Christopher Fitzpatrick, Samantha Tanghare
The parking lot of a retail establishment on Indian Trail Road was the scene of an alleged drug transaction observed by police. Christopher Fitzparick, 39, of Whitesboro, and Samantha Tanghare, 28, of Court House were both indicted for possession of a CDS, third degree, and Fitzpatrick received an added count of third degree distribution of heroin.
Javier G. Garcia
Javier Garcia, 45, of Avalon was arrested for driving while intoxicated Feb. 7. The fact that he had three children in the car earned him an indictment for endangering the welfare of a child, third degree, three separate counts. Conviction of a third-degree offense can carry a jail term of three to five years.
Alex Garcia-Gonzales
Alex Garcia-Gonzales, 35, of Wildwood Crest was indicted for third degree burglary and theft. In the period from Nov. 8 to 15, Garcia-Gonzales allegedly entered a home on East Lavender Road in Lower Township and took property valued at more than $500.
Garry J. Pyryt
Garry Pyryt, 62, of Villas was indicted for knowingly leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury, third degree, endangering an injured victim, third degree, and aggravated assault, fourth degree. The indictment alleges that Pyryt was “driving a vehicle recklessly” and caused serious injury to another person. Charges were compounded by the fact that he allegedly fled the scene.
Dylan Unruh
During a traffic stop in Wildwood, police allege that they found a loaded Raven Arms MP-25 pistol in the possession of Dylan Unruh, 24, of Del Haven. Unruh faces a second degree indictment for unlawful possession of a weapon. A second crime can carry a jail term of five to 10 years.
Terry Pierce
State Police stopped a vehicle occupied by Terry Pierce, 25, of Woodbine, Jan. 10. Troopers allege that Pierce tried to elude them on foot during the stop. Pierce was indicted for third degree resisting arrest.
Jason Pelham
Just a few days later, also in Woodbine, troopers arrested Jason Pelham, 36, of the borough, for possession of a CDS and possession with intent to distribute, both third degree. The drug in question was heroin.
James McCallion
James McCallion, of Upper Township, was indicted for theft of services, third degree. The indictment alleges that McCallion received over $500 of auto repair services without making payment.
Theodore P. Roman, Barbara Spata
Theodore Roman was arrested in February and charged with possession of a weapon, a .357 Magnum, for unlawful purposes. He was indicted for the second degree offense this week by the grand jury. During the investigation, Barbara Spata allegedly gave false information to police and she has been indicted for hindering apprehension, fourth degree.
Robert Bryant, Briana Hewlett
Robert Bryant, 21, of Egg Harbor Township, was arrested in North Wildwood Feb. 21 for contempt of court. He was also accused of hindering his own investigation and was indicted for that in the fourth degree. Briana Hewlett, 19, also of Egg Harbor Township, was indicted for hindering Bryant’s investigation. The indictment did not explain the nature of Hewlett’s offense but it was deemed serious enough by the grand jury to indict her in the second degree.
Leah Garrison, Michael Zavala Abbott
Leah Garrison and Michael Abbott, 40, were both indicted for a West Cape May burglary that occurred Jan. 31. Garrison, allegedly found to be in possession of cocaine, received the added count of third degree possession of a CDS.
Maritza Arroyo, Jarmel Smith
Maritza Arroyo and Jarmel Smith were indicted for possession of a CDS, fourth degree, and possession with intent to distribute, third degree. The drug in question was marijuana, over 50 grams. Arroyo added to her problems with an additional count for intent to distribute within 500 feet of public property, second degree, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, both second degree.
Patrick Rosenkrans, Joseph Errico, Dominic Digilio
In three separate indictments Patrick Rosenkrans, 32, of Wildwood, Joseph Errico, of Middle Township, and Dominic Digilo, 44, of Wildwood were each indicted for third degree possession of a CDS.
The individuals are only charged with the offenses and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
