COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 18 indictments April 11. The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.
Ryan Broughton
Ryan Broughton, 24, of North Cape May, was listed in the April 4 indictments for “purposely and knowingly” disobeying a restraining order.
One week later, Broughton has been indicted again for violation of that order. He was indicted for fourth-degree criminal contempt.
Kevin Crafton
Another repeat on the indictment list was Kevin Crafton, 29, of Wildwood Crest. In January, Crafton was indicted for second-degree theft by deception and forgery.
Crafton allegedly stole $75,000 from several individuals by falsely claiming he had the legal right to transfer a residential lease for a property in Wildwood Crest.
This week, Crafton was indicted for third-degree bail jumping when he failed to appear for a hearing on the theft by deception charge.
Andrew D’Agostino, Anthony D’Agostino
Brothers Andrew, 35, and Anthony D’Agostino, 32, both of Green Creek, were on this list when they were indicted in March for third-degree theft. This week Andrew faced a new indictment for receiving stolen property, third degree, and obstructing the administration of law, fourth degree.
Andrew allegedly tried to scrap a car at a Dennis Township auto yard, but the car had been stolen. The obstruction charge was for allegedly giving false information to police. Brother Anthony was indicted on one count of fourth-degree hindering apprehension for harboring Andrew to prevent his arrest.
Donald Tozer, Richard Schofield, Carollee Schick
A grand jury indictment alleges that Donald Tozer, 40, and Richard Schofield, 37, both of North Cape May, forced their way into a home on Fire Lane in Lower Township taking property from the home and fleeing in the victim’s 2004 Infinity G35.
The two were indicted for burglary, conspiracy, and theft, in the third degree.
Carollee Schick, who was indicted for counterfeiting one month ago, was associated with Schofield when they were arrested after the alleged break-in. Both Schofield and Schick were allegedly in possession of heroin, and each faces an indictment count for third-degree possession of a CDS.
Josue Capella, Michael Clauso
Josue Capella, 32, of North Cape May, and Michael Clauso, 42, of Rio Grande, were indicted for possession of a CDS, third degree.
Capella, who was indicted April 4 for possession, along with Richard Schofield, listed in the previous indictment, is another recently indicted repeat on the list.
The current indictment goes beyond possession for Capella. He also faces counts of third-degree distribution of a CDS, as well as second-degree distribution within 500 feet of public property, Rio Grande Recreational Park.
James Matthews, Matthew Donnelly
On Sept. 27, 2016, State Police responded to a report of a shooting in Dennisville. Troopers found a 30-year-old victim who had been shot in the abdomen during a robbery. The investigation led to the arrest of James Matthews, 24, of Villas.
Matthews was indicted for first-degree attempted murder and robbery, along with second and third-degree weapons charges. Matthews allegedly used a rifle in the robbery.
Matthew Donnelly was added to the indictment in a conspiracy count, second degree, which he shared with Matthews. The indictment claims that the two aided each other in the planning and commission of the robbery.
Michael Stewart, Eric Mate
Michael Stewart, 30, of Oaklyn, was indicted on two counts of possession of a CDS, distribution and two counts of possession with intent to distribute, each third degree. He is also facing a count of distribution within 500 feet of public property, a Middle Township park in Rio Grande.
Stewart shares one count in the indictment with Eric Mate, 33, of Hamilton Township, who was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS.
Donna Moore
Donna Moore, 59, of Villas, was indicted for two counts of aggravated assault, third degree. She allegedly assaulted the same female victim on two different days in February.
Thomas Mower
Thomas Mower, 53, of Woodbine, was indicted for making terroristic threats to a retired judge, placing him in “fear of death.” The count is in the third degree. Mower was lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center without bail.
Mario Pagan-Perez, Hector Perez-Heredia, Michael and Meghan Gleba, Marc Desalis and Joshua Santiago
Mario Pagan-Perez, 28, of Burleigh, Hector Perez-Heredia, 35, of Rio Grande, Michael, 23, and Meghan Gleba, both of Wildwood, Marc Desalis, 24, of Erma, and Joshua Santiago, 24, of Wildwood were each separately indicted for possession of a CDS in the third degree.
Nicholas Horin
On diverse dates from Jan. 14 to March 22, Nicholas Horin allegedly stalked a female victim repeatedly “causing harassment” and violating a restraining order. Horin was indicted for fourth-degree criminal contempt and stalking.
Laura Pond
Laura Pond, 36, of Wildwood, was indicted for two counts of possession of a CDS, possession with intent, each third degree.
Her location being within 1000 feet of a school, third degree, and within 500 feet of public property, second degree, added two counts of the indictment.
Joel Ramirez
Joel Ramirez, 42, of Woodbine, was indicted for aggravated assault in the second degree for an incident involving a female victim Jan. 9.
Just days before, Ramirez was arrested in a domestic violence incident. He has been lodged at the county Correctional Center without bail.
Dondre Spencer
Dondre Spencer, 24, of Wildwood was indicted for resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a police officer, each third degree.
The above individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
