Guilty Verdict for Frederick Marr

By Helen McCaffrey

COURT HOUSE – The jury in the Frederick Marr murder trial was out a very short time Sept. 30 before returning with a guilty verdict on all charges.
The charges stem from the fatal shooting Aug. 11, 2010 of Marr’s nephew, Ronald Denny, Sr. in Del Haven. Immediately after the shooting, Marr fled to Florida but was apprehended and returned to the Cape May County jurisdiction. Unable to make bail, Marr has been held in the county jail since his return. Marr was also found guilty of weapons charges.
County Prosecutor Robert Taylor said he was “very pleased with the verdict,” especially since all of the evidence was circumstantial. Taylor praised Chief Assistant Prosecutor James Herlihy, who tried the case for the state.
Sentencing for Marr will be at a later date.
