Grand Jury Indictments, June 16

By Vince Conti

COURT HOUSE – Ashley M. Molisani, 29, of North Cape May was indicted for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), heroin, a Schedule I drug, a third degree offense. Molisani was also indicted for theft, fourth degree; unlawful receipt of a credit card, fourth degree; and unlawful use of a credit card, third degree.
Molisani’s arrest stemmed from a call to Lower Township Police March 16. Police responded to investigate a debt card theft. On a returned call two hours later, police encountered a family dispute caused by allegations that Molisani was the suspect in the credit card theft. Upon further investigation, Molisani was also found to be in possession of heroin.
The Crest Bank credit card in question belonged to Cynthia Numbers and was allegedly used by Molisani to make purchases at a Wawa store. Molisani was arrested and charged in connection with the credit card theft and for possession and use of heroin.
Four days later, on March 20, Molisani disappeared from Shore Medical Center in Somers Point. A state police bulletin was issued asking for the public’s help in locating her. Calls to the Lower Township Police and the State Police Missing Persons Unit did not reach appropriate officers before press deadline, but Molisani is no longer listed on the State Police website of missing persons in New Jersey.
Thomas Chapman of Sea Isle City was indicted for aggravated assault, third degree. Chapman allegedly attempted to cause “significant bodily injury” to Alice Norris on September 29, 2014.
Dwayne Wakefield, 45, of Edgewood was indicted for criminal restraint, third degree. The charges stem from a Middle Township domestic violence incident reported to police on November 7, 2014. Over a two-day period, Wakefield allegedly “restrained Lacotia M. Ruiz unlawfully in circumstances exposing Ruiz to risk serious bodily harm.”
Erick F. Valencia Deviana, 20, of Villas was indicted for endangering the welfare of a child, third degree, and criminal sexual contact, fourth degree. On or about August 2014 to December 2014, Valencia Deviana allegedly engaged in sexual conduct that would “impair or debauch the morals of a child under the age of 16. The victim, whose name was not used in the indictment, had a date of birth that made her 13 to 14 years old during the period in question.
The indictments contain charges that are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
