Grand Jury Indictments, July 14

COURT HOUSE – Malick M. Philippe, 23, of Jamaica, N.Y. was indicted by a Cape May County grand jury July 14 for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), third degree, possession with intent to distribute, third degree, and theft, third degree.
 It started May 8 when an automatic license plate reader signaled that it spotted a vehicle stolen from Avis Rent a Car in Pennsylvania.  Lower Township Police stopped the 2015 red Buick sedan in the area of East Greenwood and Woolson avenues in Villas.
The driver, Philippe, was found to also be in possession of a large amount of cash, and 95 bags of heroin along with prescription pills, ethylone, not prescribed to him.
According to police, Philippe was processed and lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center on full $60,000 bail.
Shaquille LeBron, 21, Villas and Robert Schiavo, 20, Villas were indicted for conspiracy to commit theft, third degree, theft, third degree, conspiracy to commit the crime of unlawful possession of a weapon, second degree, unlawful possession of a weapon, second degree, and two counts of burglary, second degree.
The incident began with the report of a residential burglary that led Lower Township police to Shadeland Avenue.
A Glock model 19 mm handguns and jewelry were reported stolen. Detectives were able to develop information on a possible suspect leading to a motor vehicle stop. Police were later able to recover the gun from the garage of a residence on East Jacksonville Avenue that was also burglarized. The jewelry was located at a local consignment shop.
An incident in Upper Township on May 24 led to the indictments of Tam T. Nguyen, 38, from Pine Hill, N.J. and Quoc Pham, 45, from Atlantic City. The two men were engaged in an altercation against one another. As a verbal argument escalated, Nguyen allegedly swung a golf club at Pham who was armed with a knife.
 In a subsequent struggle, Nguyen gained possession of the knife and allegedly used it to stab Pham in the arm. Pham was later treated at a hospital and released.
Both were indicted for aggravated assault, third degree, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, third degree.
Christopher M. Burkle, 18, of Philadelphia was indicted for possession of a CDS, third degree, possession with intent to distribute, third degree, hindering apprehension, fourth degree.
On May 9, Burkle was arrested by Middle Township Police with less than one-half ounce of heroin, a Schedule I drug. The indictment also claims that Burkle attempted to conceal or destroy evidence to prevent his apprehension.
Luis E DeJesus was indicted for an April 1 burglary of a residence on 24th Avenue in North Wildwood.  He was also indicted for third degree theft for removing property from that residence valued in excess of $500. 
DeJesus was caught after he allegedly returned to the same property and attempted another burglary April 27.
Edwin Rossario-Aviles was indicted for two counts of possession of a CDS and unlawful possession of a weapon, fourth degree. On April 21 in Wildwood City, Rossario-Aviles was apprehended with alprazolam, a Schedule IV drug, and acetaminophen and codeine, Schedule III drugs. At the time, he was found to be in possession of a knife under “circumstances not manifestly appropriate for lawful uses.” 
The individuals are only charged with the offenses and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
