COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 22 indictments May 10. The abbreviation CDS is used for controlled dangerous substance.
Four of those were indictments related to sexual offenses, three involved children.
Josue X. Bailey-Gonzalez
Josue Bailey-Gonzales, 25, of Villas, allegedly committed aggravated sexual assault, first degree, on a “child under the age of 13.” The date of birth in the indictment states the child was 5 years old. In addition to the first-degree indictment, Bailey-Gonzales received a second count of endangering the welfare of a child, third degree. Bailey-Gonzalez has been lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center.
Juan D. Nieves-Barrios
Between Feb. 1 and March 14, 2016, Juan Nieves-Barrios, 26, of Wildwood, allegedly committed aggravated sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl.
Hugalde Pineda-Vega
In February, in Cape May, Hugalde Pineda-Vega allegedly engaged in criminal sexual contact. The grand jury handed up a fourth-degree indictment.
Derrick Moore
Derrick Moore, 27, of Fishing Creek, was convicted in 2014 of luring children to his truck in Upper Darby, Pa. Moore was therefore required to register any change of address with local law enforcement. He was indicted for the third-degree offense of failure to re-register upon a change of address.
Richard Crawford, Carmen Colon-Cruz
Wildwood police arrested Richard Crawford and Carmen Colon-Cruz for heroin-related crimes in March. This week both were indicted for possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute, and possession with intent within 1,000 feet of a school, all third degree. The school in question was Wildwood High School.
Augustine Landicini, Lorraine Chester
Augustine Landicini and Lorraine Chester, both of Rio Grande, were indicted for allegedly causing “serious bodily harm” to an infant less than 1-month-old according to the date of birth in the indictment. The indictment charges them with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child, both second degree.
Christy Carbonaro
Christy Carbonaro, of Woodbine, was indicted for fourth-degree stalking. The individual she allegedly stalked was a female trooper at New Jersey State Police Woodbine Barracks. The offense was committed over the period from summer 2015 to January 2016, according to the indictment.
Alex Garcia-Gonzalez
Alex Garcia-Gonzalez allegedly broke into a residence on Rio Grande Boulevard in February. He was surprised by the homeowner and fled the scene on a bicycle. According to police reports, he was apprehended by Wildwood Police. He was indicted for third-degree burglary.
David Lambert
David Lambert, 36, of North Cape May, was indicted for forging a personal check of another for $300 made payable to himself. The indictment was for forgery and uttering a forged instrument, both third degree.
Jessica Lane
Jessica Lane allegedly entered a West Cape May pharmacy and obtained a CDS by fraud in November 2015. Lane, 27, of Belleville, Essex County, was indicted for the third-degree offense this week.
Jeffrey Larsen
Jeffrey Larsen, 40, of Villas, was indicted for possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, second degree, certain person, second degree, and aggravated assault, fourth degree. On March 8, Lower Township Police responded to reports of a man brandishing a weapon. When they executed a search warrant on Larsen’s Bentz Avenue residence, the indictment claims they found a 9-mm Beretta Nano 9. Larsen allegedly pointed the weapon at another individual constituting fourth-degree assault. Also, the investigation found that Larsen had been convicted of possession of a CDS with intent to distribute. He, therefore, was not allowed to possess a weapon and thus the certain person count was added to the indictment,
Michael Hughes
Michael Hughes, of Woodbine, was indicted on several weapons charges. The offenses date from September 2014. He was indicted for two counts of prohibited weapon, third degree and fourth degree, receipt of stolen property, third degree and possession of a CDS, third degree. The weapons were a sawed-off shotgun and a stun gun. The stolen property was a rifle valued at greater than $500, and the drug allegedly in his possession was methamphetamine.
Roberto Quiles
Roberto Quiles failed to return to detention from “temporary leave” on “diverse dates” in March and April. He was indicted for third-degree escape.
Michael Sheeler
Michael Sheeler allegedly used deception to take property of the Borough of Stone Harbor valued in excess of $500. He was indicted for theft by deception, third degree.
Frankie Sola
In March 2016, Frankie Sola, of Lower Township, allegedly took a credit card belonging to another and used it for purchases at several large retailers and markets totaling a value greater than $500. He was indicted for unlawful theft or receipt of a credit card, fourth-degree, and fraudulent use of a credit card and theft, both third-degree.
The individuals are only charged with the offenses and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
