Four Wildwood Residents Face Drug Charges; Cocaine, Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia Seized

WILDWOOD – Four local residents of Wildwood were arrested during the execution of a search warrant in Wildwood, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Wildwood Police Chief Steve Long announced Oct. 31.
The arrests are the result of a cooperative effort by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Task Force and the Wildwood Police Department.
On Oct. 30, a court authorized search warrant was executed by the Cape May County Regional S.W.A.T team in the 100 East block of Spicer Ave. in Wildwood. As a result of the investigation, distribution amounts of crack cocaine were seized along with an amount of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation, Joel Candelaria-Reyes, 31, Jesus Roman, 25, Jonathan Soto, 26, and a 17-year-old juvenile were all charged with the following:
Possession of cocaine, a crime of the third degree.
Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, a crime of the third degree.
Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public place, a crime of the second degree.
Possession of marijuana, a disorderly persons offense.
Candelaria-Reyes, Roman, and Soto were all lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of cash bail and the 17-year-old juvenile was released on a summons complaint to a guardian.
Prosecutor Taylor advises that persons convicted of a second degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 5 to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison; persons convicted of a third degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 3 to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison. Prosecutor Taylor commented that his office is continuing to work in conjunction with each of the local police departments within the County to help rid the streets of these dangerous drugs and individuals who illegally distribute these drugs throughout the County. The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
