STRATHMERE – Woodbine Station Troopers were dispatched Oct. 28 to the first block E. Sherman Avenue in reference to an alarm. Upon arrival, witnesses described an individual departing the residence where the alarm was sounded.
There have been multiple burglaries in the area recently and after obtaining a detailed description of the suspect and the vehicle in which he departed, it was located and a motor vehicle stop was done.
Burglary tools were observed in the vehicle along with other suspected stolen property, and hypodermic needles. The four occupants were then transported to the Woodbine Station to continue this investigation.
With the assistance of the Woodbine CIO detective unit, formal interviews of the four occupants were done and subsequently revealed that the four suspects, Michael Cori, 29, and Austin Cori, 26, both from Sea Isle City; Richard Winter, 32, and Khelena Kireyeva, 37, both from Runnemede, admitted to being responsible for eight residential burglaries in Strathmere as well as burglaries in Sea Isle City.
All four accused were issued respective summons complaints reflecting charges for the burglaries and thefts in Strathmere and paraphernalia found in the vehicle. Sea Isle City Police Department was also contacted and apprised of this investigation, which is ongoing at this time. Investigation is continuing into the location of other pawned property.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
