COURT HOUSE – County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor announces the indictment of Christine Lentz, 53, of Woodbine, for the charges related to computer criminal activity which occurred in Ocean City on multiple dates in 2015.
An investigation revealed that while employed by the Ocean City High School as a Vice Principal/Athletic Director, Lentz allegedly accessed the Ocean City School District email of the superintendent of the Ocean City High School, without prior authorization, between the dates of April 1, 2015 and June 1, 2015.
On Feb. 9, Lentz was indicted by a grand jury of Cape May County Superior Court for official misconduct, a crime of the second degree, computer criminal activity, a crime of the third degree, and theft, a crime of the third degree.
Prosecutor Taylor advises that individuals charged with second degree crimes could carry the penalty of 5-10 years in State prison and crimes of the third degree could carry the penalty of 3-5 years in State prison.
