OCEAN CITY – County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor announces the arrest of former Ocean City High School Vice Principal and Athletic Director, Christine Lentz, 53, of Woodbine, for the charges of official misconduct, a crime of the second degree, and computer criminal activity, a crime of the third degree.

The month-long investigation led by Detective Bryan Hamilton of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit revealed that Lentz, while employed by the Ocean City High School as a Vice Principal and Athletic Director, allegedly accessed the Ocean City School District email of the Superintendent, Kathleen Taylor. Lentz is alleged to have done this between April 1 and June 1, without prior authorization.

On August 4, Lentz turned herself in at the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, where she was processed and released on a summons, pending a court appearance.

Prosecutor Taylor advises that persons convicted of a second-degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 5 to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison and persons convicted of a third-degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 3 to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
