SEA ISLE CITY — On Sun., Sept. 5, police stopped a vehicle and charged its driver with drunk driving, leading to other charges.
Upon completing a criminal background check on the driver, Phillip Philhower, 33, of Ringoes, N.J., police learned that he was under a court order barring him from possessing a weapon of any kind.
According to department spokesperson Capt. Michael A. Jargowsky, police found a bb gun with a scope in Philhower’s vehicle.
In addition to the DWI charge, Philhower was charged with contempt of court and weapons offenses. He was lodged in county jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.
