BURLEIGH – Members of the Middle Township Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit observed a drug transaction in the parking lot of a retail store on Indian Trail Road at 11:40 a.m. Feb. 17. Christopher Fitzpatrick and Samantha Tanghare were both arrested. Five bags of heroin along with $610 in cash was seized.
Fitzpatrick was charged with possession of heroin, and intent to distribute heroin, both are third degree crimes. Fitzpatrick was taken to the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $60,000 cash bail.
Tanghare was charged with possession of heroin. She was released on a summons for the heroin charge, however she had two bench warrants for her arrest. One was for child support, and the other was for a failure to appear from Wildwood City. She was taken to the Cape May County Correctional Center for the two warrants.
