Drone Shooter Faces Probation

COURT HOUSE – Russell Percenti, 34, of Lower Township pled guilty for one count of criminal mischief, a crime of the fourth degree, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor announced Feb. 12. 

Percenti acknowledged that on Sept. 26, 2014, in Lower Township, he used a shotgun in a residential neighborhood to shoot at a remotely-controlled drone. He also acknowledged that he caused a monetary loss of over $500 to the owner of that property. 

Prosecutor Taylor advises that fourth degree crimes can carry a penalty of up to 18 months in New Jersey State Prison.

Percenti is to be sentenced to probation April 29, 2016.
