AVALON – Avalon Police Department has filed several disorderly persons offenses against a Philadelphia, Pa. man stemming from a complaint received from a seasonal resident who hired the man through Uber.com smartphone applications.
Nayal Salem, 57, from the 8500 block of Bustleton Avenue in Philadelphia, was charged with lewdness, false imprisonment and harassment after the woman claimed she could not open the rear door of his vehicle to exit after reaching her destination. Salem allegedly entered the rear passenger compartment where the woman was sitting and began to fondle himself through his clothing.
Salem was served a summons to appear at the Avalon Municipal Court for a June 22 court date.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
