Domestic Violence Leads to Aggravated Assault Arrest

VILLAS – Lower Township Police responded to Cape Regional Medical Center for the report of an aggravated assault which occurred in the area of Mowery Ave. in the Villas section of Lower Township Sept. 3 at approximately 3:42 a.m.
Patrolman Armbruster met with the victim who stated his roommate struck him in the face during a verbal dispute, fracturing the victim’s jaw in two locations.
Further investigation identified the suspect as Wallace A. Martino Jr., 22, residing in the North Cape May section of Lower Township. Due to the victim’s extensive injuries, Martino was arrested for a domestic violence aggravated assault. A warrant was issued by Judge Thomas Hillegass and bail was set at $100,000 full cash. Martino was unable to post bail and was lodged in Cape May County Correctional Center.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
