WILDWOOD CREST – Patrol officers were dispatched to a report of a domestic violence assault at approximately 4:52 a.m. Dec. 15. During the investigation, it was learned that William R. Camac III, 48, of Wildwood Crest, held his girlfriend against her will inside their residence, according to a release.

While inside the residence, Camac attempted to smother the victim with a pair of sweatpants and attempted to cut her with a kitchen knife. The victim was able to fight off Camac and escape the residence through a window.
