COURT HOUSE– On March 16, at approximately 8 p.m. officers responded to 403 Hand Ave in the Cape May Court House section of Middle for a reported burglar alarm. Ptlm. Saettler arrived and found bullet holes in a window and in the exterior of the residence. A check of the interior of the residence revealed two bullets on the floor inside.
Patrol Officers then checked the exterior of the residence and located more bullet holes in the garage walls and surrounding trees. As a result of this investigation, a neighbor, Joseph Garrett, 50 years old, residing at 314 Hand Avenue was arrested and charged with the following crimes:
Criminal Mischief and Evidence Tampering both 4th degree crimes; possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose a 2nd degree crime and unlawful possession of a firearm a 3rd degree crime.
Joseph Garrett told Detectives that he was target practicing and shooting at small game animals and didn’t realize he was hitting houses with the bullets. Garrett was placed in the Cape May County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash bail set by Judge David DeWeese.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
