COURT HOUSE– On March 24, Middle Township Police received a complaint of a sexual assault of a minor. The assault had taken place at a residence on Goshen road in Cape May Court House. Middle Township Major Crimes unit, with the assistance of the Cape May County Sheriff’s department, and Prosecutor’s Office investigated the incident.
As a result of the investigation David Lambert, 30, of Court House, and his wife Robyn Lambert, 29, were arrested on March 25.
They were both charged with Endangering the welfare of a child a 2nd degree crime, Child Abuse a 4th degree crime, Possession of CDS a 3rd degree crime, and Possession of Marijuana. David Lambert was additionaly charged with obstruction a 4th degree crime and resisting arrest.
Middle Township Police said the sexual assault is still under investigation by Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and charges are expected to be filed within the next few days.
Also Friday, David Lambert was sentenced in Cape May County Superior Court regarding a different matter, the Press of Atlantic City reports.
Lambert, who was arrested while awaiting sentencing, received 90 days in jail and five years of probation for third-degree counts of criminal mischief and terroristic threats regarding disputes with a neighbor the report said.
