OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Police Department in cooperation with STUMAR investigations executed two search warrants at businesses on the Ocean City Boardwalk today.
The search warrants were a result of a month long investigation into the sale of counterfeit designer products from those stores.
Products being sold were handbags and jewelry. Designers involved with the investigation were; Juicy Couture, Prada, Coach, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.
The police were able to seize over 700 pieces of jewelry and over 40 handbags.
Also seized were emblems used to make the counterfeit handbags.
The investigation was conducted by Det. Stephen Sullivan, Det. Stephen Schaffer, Det. Dan Lancaster of the Ocean City Police Department and Stuart Drobny of STUMAR Investigations.
Arrested were Umar Farooq, 32, Brigantine, Released on Summons and Michael S. Miller, 47, Philadelphia, Released on Summons.
The pair are charged with trademark counterfeiting and criminal simulation.
