Cops Nab Bloods Member in Drug Bust

COURT HOUSE — County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Wildwood Police Department Chief Steven Long announced the conclusion of a narcotics investigation involving the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force along with the Wildwood Police Department that resulted in the seizure of a large amount of suspected heroin and the arrest of a member of the “Bloods” street gang in the City of Wildwood.
On Thur., Nov. 3, member of the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team, Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Wildwood Police Department and Sheriff’s K-9 Unit executed court authorized search warrants on Michael Daniels and Daniels’ residence located at 3700 New Jersey Avenue. As a result of these search warrants, over 160 bags of suspected heroin, marijuana, manufacturing and packaging materials including a digital scale and numerous plastic bags, along with $848.00 in U.S. currency, was seized. According to Taylor, the approximate street value of the suspected heroin and marijuana is over $4,000.
Davis, 28, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, specifically heroin; Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Sub-stance with Intent to Distribute in an amount under one-half ounce; Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute within 500 feet of a Public Place; Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams; Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute; and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute within 500 feet of a Public Place.
Daniels was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 full cash bail.
Also charged as a result of the investigation was Rebecca Abu, 23, residing in the 3700 block of New Jersey Avenue. Abu was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute in an amount of under one-half ounce; Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute within 500 feet of a Public Place; Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams; Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute; and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute within 500 feet of a Public Place.
Abu was released on summonses.
Taylor and Long commend the work of the Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force, along with all of the cooperating agencies involved in this investigation.
Taylor stated that the Task Force will continue to target drug dealers and people involved in criminal street gangs in Cape May County, along with seizure of their assets.
