VILLAS – Lower Township police reported that on Dec. 23, at 12:19 p.m., Patrolman Kevin Boyle conducted a property check in the parking lot of a convenience store on Bayshore Road in Villas.
Prior to the property check, Boyle was advised by a citizen that there were three subjects in a vehicle on the north side of the building engaged in possible drug-related activity.
Boyle located the vehicle, occupied by the three subjects as reported. He began conducting an investigation. A warrant check on the three revealed that all three had outstanding warrants.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 12 bags of wax paper folds containing a white powdery substance believed to be heroin. Also there were two small pills believed to be morphine.
Steven V. Turchi, 22, of Woodbine, was arrested on two outstanding warrants.
Megan M. Knoyer, 28, of Court House, was arrested on four outstanding warrants.
Teresa l. Welch was arrested on four outstanding warrants. Welch was also charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and possession of a hypodermic needle.
She was charged on a criminal warrant authorized by Municipal Court Judge Thomas Hillegass with bail set at $15,000 full cash. All three were remanded to the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of bail.
