The following is based on information received from a law enforcement agency. The person(s) named is innocent until proven otherwise in court.
RIO GRANDE – On Sept. 8, at approximately 3:43 a.m., the Middle Township Police Department responded to the Rio Grande Mobile Home Park, in Rio Grande, for a 9-1-1 call of a reported stab victim.
Responding officers found the victim, a 41-year-old male, of Rio Grande, lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds throughout his body.
He was immediately provided emergency medical aid and transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City.
He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
An extensive investigation conducted by the Middle Township Police Department’s Uniformed Patrol Division, Major Crimes Unit, and Street Crimes Unit identified three subjects allegedly responsible for the stabbing of Wells: Harry Angstadt Jr., 27, of Rio Grande, James W. Donnelly, 24, of North Cape May and Christopher F. Fox, 22, of Rio Grande.
Municipal Court Judge Marian Ragusa issued warrants for Angstadt Jr., Donnelly, and Fox. They were each charged with the following criminal charges in connection with the stabbing: aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.
Additional charges are pending for each subject.
Fox and Donnelly were both arrested and lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center, pending court proceedings.
Angstadt Jr. has not been located.
The Middle Township Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Angstadt Jr.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Angstadt Jr., or who may have witnessed the assault is asked to contact the Middle Township Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit at 609-465-8700.
