VILLAS – On Jan. 14, at approximately 10:52 p.m., Lower Township Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Fulling Mill Road, in the area of the Par 3 Golf Course, which is located in Villas.
The driver of the vehicle, Cortney M. Plexico, 36, was checked for the validity of her driver’s license, as well as for outstanding warrants for her arrest. The check revealed Plexico was wanted by Middle Township on two traffic warrants, one for $1,000, and one for $500.
A passenger in the vehicle, John J. Baum III, 27, was also checked for outstanding warrants for his arrest. The check revealed Baum was wanted by Egg Harbor Township on a $650 criminal warrant.
Both subjects were placed under arrest.
A search incident to arrest revealed controlled dangerous substances (CDS) located in the vehicle, specifically heroin, hypodermic needles, Xanax and other prescription drugs, of which Plexico admitted were hers, and that she had no prescription to possess.
Plexico was charged with two counts of possession of a CDS, possession of hypodermic needles, as well as contempt of court. Additionally, Plexico was issued two motor vehicle summonses for driving while suspended and inadequate license plate illumination. She was processed and lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center, pending court.
Baum was charged with contempt of court, processed, and transported to the Atlantic County Correctional Center, pending court.
The primary officer of the investigation is Officer Jennifer Anzelone, with the assistance of Officer Kenneth Walker.
The individual(s) listed is/are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
