GREEN CREEK – Middle Township Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in Green Creek April 7 at midnight.
Upon arrival, officers found a 2008 BMW had run off the roadway, striking a house located on the 300 block Route 47 South.
Further investigation revealed the driver, Brian Donnelly, Jr., 19, of North Wildwood, was travelling northbound on Route 47 at a high rate of speed when he ran off the roadway, struck a utility pole and then the house. During the investigation, bags of marijuana could be seen in the passenger compartment of the BMW. Approximately 1.5 pounds of marijuana was found to be in the vehicle. Donnelly was placed under arrest, processed and released on a summons.
Donnelly was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, third degree, possession of marijuana over 50 grams, fourth degree, and several motor vehicle summonses.
A passenger in the vehicle, Jared Erhart, 18, of Del Haven, was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. Another passenger in the vehicle fled the scene prior to arrival and was not located or identified. No one in the residence was injured.
Middle Township EMS and Green Creek Fire assisted on scene. Patrol Officer First Class Michelle Brown and Class II Jacob Zeller investigated.
