CAPTURED: Deanna Nelson

By Herald Staff

COURT HOUSE — Cape May County Sheriff Gary Schaffer announced the July 10 capture of Deanna Nelson in Wildwood, wanted on a drug court warrant, and whose original charge was possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Nelson’s photo and description was published in the July 8 Herald and also placed on the newspaper’s Web site: www.capemaycountyherald.com.
After publication, Schaffer said Wildwood police “were keeping an eye out for her.”
Subsequently, Wildwood police checked a tip from Crime Stoppers on July 9 for a Rio Grande address without success. She was seen on July 10 on the street there, and was arrested at that time.
Her arrest marks the third capture since March when the Herald began publishing photos of persons wanted by Cape May County law enforcement.
The program is a joint effort between this newspaper, the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and Cape May County Sheriff’s Department.
Those with information about wanted persons, or any crime, should call the Prosecutor’s Office, (609) 465-1135, Sheriff’s Department, (609) 675-1207, Crime Stoppers, (609) 465-2800 or Text Tip number: TIP411 (847411).
