Cape May Police Charge Local with Burglaries

CAPE MAY — After a lengthy investigation, police here arrested a local man for two residential burglaries that occurred in 2007.
DNA evidence found at the scene of the incidents by Cape May detectives linked the suspect Michael Leo, 44, to the crimes.
The State Police Forensic Laboratory confirmed a positive match for Leo, who was charged in February 2009 with two counts each of burglary and theft, was lodged in county jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail after being arrested on April 15 by Detectives Dekon Fashaw and Victor Demusz.
According to the state Department of Corrections, Leo did time in state prison on shoplifting charges from Sept. 7, 2006 to March 3, 2007.
