OCEAN CITY – On Aug. 10 and 12 the Ocean City Police Department served a search warrant CDS investigation and weapons seizure at 10th Street & Haven Avenue and 900 block West Avenue, respectively.
Search Warrant:
On Aug. 10, 2011, at 9:00 p.m. the Ocean City Police Department and Cape May County Swat Team served a search warrant on a property at the corner of 10th Street and Haven Avenue. The search warrant was a result of a month long investigation into the sale of controlled dangerous substances from that location.
The search warrant resulted in the arrest of two suspects; Jared Parker and Christopher Bruey, both of Ocean City. Seized during the search warrant was a stun gun, knife, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both suspects were being held on arrests warrants issued by Judge Richard Russell, JMC.
The investigation was conducted by Det. Stephen Sullivan and Det. Stephen Schaffer.
Arrested were: Jared A. Parker, 42, Ocean City, NJ. Bail $2,500 full cash
He was charged with:
1) Possession of Stun Gun
2) Possession of Marijuana under 50grms
3) Possession Drug Paraphernalia
4) Possession Weapons by Felon
Also arrested, Christopher D. Bruey, 19, Ocean City, NJ. Bail $1,500 full cash
He was charged with:
1) Unlawful Possession of Weapon
2) Possession Marijuana under 50grms
3) Possession Drug Paraphernalia
Weapons Seizure:
On Aug. 12, 2011 at 10:56 p.m. the Ocean City Police Department recovered two weapons after investigating a suspicious motor vehicle in the 900 block of West Avenue.
Det. Stephen Sullivan and Det. Stephen Schaffer were on routine patrol when they observed a vehicle and white male occupant acting suspiciously in the McDonald’s parking lot. The officers took up a position of surveillance when they observed a black male exit another vehicle and enter the passenger side of the vehicle being observed.
The black male exited after a few minutes and returned to the other car parked in the lot. The officers then began to approach both vehicles believing that a drug transaction had just taken place.
When the officers approached the first vehicle it left the parking lot in a hurry. The officers then began a search in an attempt to locate the vehicle with the white male driver. The officers then returned to the parking lot to continue the investigation with the other vehicle that was occupied by four males.
When the occupants observed the officers approaching they exited the vehicle in an attempt to flee. The officers, upon checking the vehicle, observed a handgun on the rear seat.
A search was conducted by the officers for the occupants. After a short time all occupants were located at the transportation center. All four were taken into custody at the scene.
After obtaining a search warrant, discovered in the vehicle was another handgun in addition to the first one observed by the officers. Recovered from the vehicle were two handguns; 1) .357 caliber revolver and 2) .22 caliber revolver, both loaded with ammunition. The guns had been reported stolen from Vineland, New Jersey and Texas. Details about the stolen gun investigations were not available at the time of this press release.
The four occupants were arrested and charged on warrants issued by the Superior Court of New Jersey. Those arrested were transported to the Cape May County Correctional Facility.

1) Lamar T. Roberts, 24, Somers Point, NJ. Bail $75,000 full cash
2) Anthony J. Livingston, 26, Galloway, NJ. Bail $50,000 full cash
3) Robert L. Hart, 26, Pleasantville, NJ. Bail $50,000 full cash
They were charged with:
1) Possession Weapon Unlawful Purpose – 2 counts
2) Unlawful Possession of Weapon – 2 counts
3) Certain Persons not to have Weapons – 2 counts
4) Receiving Stolen Property
Also arrested was Darryl W. Hampton, 18, Atlantic City, NJ. Bail $50,000
He was charged with:
1) Possession Weapon Unlawful Purpose – 2 counts
2) Unlawful Possession of Weapon – 2 counts
3) Receiving Stolen Property
