Bus Stop Buy Leads To Bust for Heroin

RIO GRANDE – Members of the Middle Township Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit observed a narcotics transaction Jan. 8 at the bus stop located on Rt. 47 in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township, which is located within 500 feet of a public park.
As a result, Sean P. Hillegass, 33, from Rio Grande, was detained and found to be in possession of 137 bags of heroin and $1,172.
Hillegass was charged with possession of heroin, distribution of heroin and distribution of heroin within 500 feet of a public park.
Hillegass was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $30,000 cash bail set by Judge Dorothy Garrabrant.   
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
