WILDWOOD – In the light of the full moon, at 12:32 a.m. Nov. 28, Wildwood police and fire units were dispatched to an activated fire alarm at 321 E. Wildwood Ave.
Once on scene, officers discovered that multiple condominium units in the 300 East block had been burglarized.
Assistance was summoned from Wildwood Crest and North Wildwood police departments to the area to aid the investigation. As that continued, officers located evidence in several units that allegedly linked the burglaries to Naseem Abu-Dayya, 24, an unemployed cashier, who was homeless.
Abu-Dayya was found within close proximity to the crime scene, and was placed under arrest. He was charged with nine counts of burglary and possession of heroin.
Municipal Court Judge Christopher Robinson was contacted and set bail at $50,000 cash-bond, no 10 percent.
Abu-Dayya was remanded to Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of bail. The case remains active, further charges are pending, according to police.
