CAPE MAY — Cape May Police reported on Mon., July 16 that a complaint was filed in Municipal Court against a Blackwood man after an altercation at Congress Hall on July 4.
On that day at 8:29 p.m., Cape May City Police were dispatched to a fight outside Congress Hall hotel.
An investigation by Patrolman K. Mazza indicated a confrontation developed between Paul P. Capelli, 48, of West Chester, Pa. and David M. Gallagher, 73, of Lower Township, reportedly over the placement of a blanket and chairs and foul language.
As a result of that confrontation a third person became involved. That person, Timothy B. Cain, 28, of Blackwood was identified as Gallagher’s grandson.
Cain has been charged with assault and with disorderly conduct after he became involved and caused injury to an uninvolved child who was in the area.
The child was transported by the Cape May Fire Department Rescue Squad to Cape Regional Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
Cain is slated to appear in Cape May Municipal Court July 18 at 9 a.m.
