Beach Incident Defendant Waives Court Appearance

COURT HOUSE – The Philadelphia woman arrested on a Wildwood beach May 26 has waived her first court appearance, The Press of Atlantic City reports.  
A video taken by a bystander, which showed an officer punching Emily Weinman, 20, in the head during the arrest, went viral online over Memorial Day Weekend. 
Weinman was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, aggravated assault by spitting bodily fluids at/on a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, obstruction, and minor in possession of alcohol.
Weinman was scheduled to appear in court at noon June 15. She is scheduled for a pre-indictment conference July 26, the report continued.
