NORTH WILDWOOD – Atlantic County Surrogate Jim Curcio pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to a chemical test, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain said in a Sept. 24 statement.
According to McClain, on April 27, shortly after 1 a.m., Mullica Township police officer Michael Tantum stopped Curcio on Route 30. After the motor vehicle stop was conducted, Curcio was charged with reckless driving, failing to maintain lane and driving while intoxicated. Curcio was arrested and taken to the police station where he was then additionally
charged with refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Based upon Curcio’s position as Surrogate, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office superseded prosecution and requested a change of venue to Cape May County. The matter was heard in North Wildwood Municipal Court before Judge Louis Belasco,
Presiding Municipal Court Judge of Atlantic and Cape May Counties.
Curcio pleaded guilty to both the DWI and the refusal charge. Belasco entenced Curcio to over $850 in fines, 48-hours in the Intoxicated Driver Resource Center (IDRC), a two-year loss of license and one year of ignition interlock for the DWI
charge. For the refusal charge, Curcio was sentenced to over $400 in fines, 48-hours in IDRC, six months ignition interlock and seven months of license suspension, to be served concurrently with the DWI sentence.
Cape May – I am enjoying the meltdown from so many Leftists on president elect Trumps picks for his cabinet and their stating that he is bringing on people with zero experience in government. Yes, you nailed it…
