Atlantic City Police Surveillance Center Helps Nab Alleged Burglar

By Press Release

ATLANTIC CITY – A man was arrested Nov. 18 after being seen on camera by Atlantic City Police Department Surveillance Center personnel pulling on car door handles.
According to a release, at 1:22 a.m., patrol officers responded to the beach block of Delancey Place after Surveillance Center personnel observed the Sean Conyers, 30, of Villas checking car doors in the block.
Surveillance personnel provided a description of Conyers to the responding officers. Officer Sean McGettigan located Conyers two blocks away on Bartram Avenue. Conyers was placed in custody for an active arrest warrant.
While searching Conyers, McGettigan found a wallet, keys, and identification for another man in Conyers’ jacket pocket.
McGettigan was familiar with the man who works at a local business. The man was located and advised McGettigan that his vehicle had been burglarized earlier in the morning on the beach block of Providence Avenue.
Surveillance Center personnel reviewed camera footage for the block and located Conyers entering the vehicle.
Residents and visitors are reminded to lock car doors when exiting and leaving their vehicle. This will reduce the number of vehicle burglaries as most individuals are checking for the unlocked car to enter.
Conyers was charged with burglary, theft, and contempt of court. Conyers was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Atlantic City Police Department Criminal Investigations Section at 609-347-5766 or text anonymously to tip411 (847411). Begin the text with ACPD.
The above was received from a law enforcement agency. The person(s) named is/are innocent unless proven otherwise.
