By Press Release

ATLANTIC CITY – A naturalization ceremony for 20 foreign born residents from 15 countries will be held April 29 at 11 a.m. at the Police and Fire Memorial Plaza, 1301 Bacharach Blvd., Atlantic City. The event, which will be part of the vicinage’s annual Law Day celebration, will be hosted by the Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage, Atlantic County, Atlantic City, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Atlantic County Bar Association.
Assignment Judge Julio L. Mendez will preside over the ceremony and administer the Oath of Citizenship. Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson will offer remarks. “This is our third year hosting this ceremony. It is truly an honor for me and our vicinage to host this ceremony. I congratulate and welcome the new citizens,” said Mendez.
The celebration will begin with recognition of the high school mock trial team winners for Atlantic County, Mainland Regional High School.
Mainland Regional won the state title in the New Jersey State Bar Foundation’s 2015 Vincent J. Apruzzese High School Mock Trial Competition finals on March 25 at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick. Mainland will represent New Jersey in the national competition in Raleigh, North Carolina from May 14 to May 16.
