EDGEWOOD – Daquan Smith was apprehended Jan. 16 in Vineland with the assistance of the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Unit, the Vineland Police Department and the New Jersey Probation Office.
According to a Middle Township Police Department release, Smith had been criminally charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault with a handgun, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, due to a shooting incident that occurred in Edgewood Dec. 18, 2019.
Additional investigation by the Middle Township Major Crimes Unit resulted in the development of another suspect, Jaquan Bartee, 22, of Vineland.
A warrant was issued for Bartee that charged him with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault. Bartee was also apprehended Jan. 16.
Both Smith and Bartee were lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
