BURLEIGH – Middle Township police have arrested Santokh Singh, 40, of this community in connection with the stabbing of a 32-year-old male on July 8.
According to police, at 2:22 a.m. they were summoned to a residence in the 1200 block Georgia Avenue for a report of an assault and stabbing.
When they arrived, numerous subjects, all found to be family members, were located at the residence. The victim was found to be suffering from a stab wound to the chest.
Rescue personnel from Middle Township Ambulance and paramedics initially treated the victim at the scene, then transported him, via helicopter, to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City.
Middle Township police detectives, accompanied by those from the county Prosecutor’s Office conducted interviews and evidence at the incident scene.
Singh was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.
Municipal Court Judge Peter Tourison set Singh’s bail at $75,000. He was remanded to county jail as the investigation continues.
