COURT HOUSE – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor announces the arrest of Ronnie P. Erricson, 49, of Court House for the unauthorized practice of psychology.
An investigation was initiated by members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Economic Crimes Unit following the receipt of a complaint from a victim who believed Erricson to be unlicensed. As a result of this investigation, it was revealed that Erricson had treated multiple patients at his residence, both adults and juveniles, who were under the impression that he held a Doctorate in Psychology, as well as a license to practice. It was determined Erricson does not hold either title.
On March 30, 2017, Erricson was charged with unauthorized practice of psychology, third degree, endangering the welfare of a child, third degree, and falsification of records, fourth degree. Erricson was processed and released pending court proceedings.
According to Taylor, individuals charged with a crime of the third degree upon conviction are subject to a term of imprisonment of three to five years in New Jersey State Prison and individuals charged with a crime of the fourth degree upon conviction are subject to a term of up to 18 months in New Jersey State Prison.
