VILLAS – Patrolman Corey Scheid conducted a motor vehicle stop of a Chevrolet S10, which was occupied by two male subjects, March 28. The subjects were identified as Kris Beckman, 30 of Villas, and Richard Zulla III, 28, of Rio Grande.
During the course of the traffic stop, it was learned that both individuals had outstanding criminal warrants for their arrest. Each were taken into custody and searched. At that time, both parties were found to be in possession of several bags of heroin and multiple hypodermic syringes. Both men were also in possession of prescription Tramadol (a Schedule IV narcotic), and Buprenorphine pills (a Schedule III narcotic), without having valid prescriptions.
Both individuals were transported back to the Lower Township Police Department where they were charged on warrants for their respective offenses. At the conclusion of processing, both Beckman and Zulla were lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
