Cops in Shops Grant Awarded to Lower Township Police Department

Lower Township Police Department receives federal money obtained through the Division of Highway and Traffic Safety and dispersed through the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control, from the Cops in Shops, 2013 Summer Shore Initiative Grant.
The Lower Township Police Department has participated in the Cops and Shops Program for over ten years, which places undercover police officers in area liquor store establishments to deter and/or apprehend under age minors from purchasing alcoholic beverages. The program also targets adults who purchase alcoholic beverages for minors.
This program started in June 2013 and will run through September 2013.
