Chowder Contest – want to enter?

By On Deck Staff

The 11th annual Cape May Food & Wine Festival, Sept. 15-20, is approaching and the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC) is inviting area chefs, restaurants, bed and breakfasts and businesses to submit their best chowders for the popular Peoples’ Choice Chowder Contest.
The contest is a highlight of the Gourmet Marketplace, Sunday, Sept. 16 from 12-4 p.m. at the Cape May Winery, 711 Town Bank Road in North Cape May.
Visitors will sample a variety of chowders, then vote for their favorite by dropping a donation in the corresponding collection jar. All proceeds benefit the Kiwanis Club of Cape May, which supports children and young adults in need.
For more information, or to enter your chowder in the contest, contact MAC Special Events Director Anne Fitzsimons, at 609-884-5404, ext. 152.
The Cape May Food & Wine Festival features good food, fine wine, and all types of culinary delights and events including Winery Cellar Tour & Tastings, the Cape May Harvest Food and Wine Tasting, the five-course Beer-Tasting Dinner, the five-course Chefs’ Dine-Arounds (each course is served in one of Cape May’s premier restaurants), and classes, seminars and tastings.
The 11th annual Cape May Food & Wine Festival is presented by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC), in conjunction with Cape May’s restaurant community.
