DEL HAVEN: (11.22) Albert H. Riehl Jr., 36, of North Cape May, was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child on Nov. 19 by Middle and Lower Township police.
The alleged incidents took place in a vehicle parked at the Cape May County Park South on Bayshore Road, and in the child’s home where Riehl reportedly lived for about six months.
According to Detective Sgt. Paul Loefflad, Middle and Lower Township police departments and the County Prosecutor’s Office conducted a cooperative investigation.
Riehl was charged by Middle Township police with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Lower Township police charged him with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Superior Court Judge Valerie Armstrong set bail at $150,000.
Riehl was remanded to county jail.
