NORTH WILDWOOD – A sailboat carrying the boat’s captain and his family appeared on North Wildwood’s 7th Avenue beach early Sept. 10, The Wildwood Video Archive reports.
The boat’s captain, who was not identified, told The Wildwood Video Archive that around 8 p.m. Sept. 9 he and his family left Stone Harbor on the sailboat and around 9 p.m. the boat lost power to its engine. The captain stated he alerted Coast Guard and then ran the boat aground in North Wildwood.
No injuries were reported.
North Wildwood Beach Patrol and North Wildwood Public Works Department assisted in having the sailboat towed Sept. 10 in the afternoon, according to a post on North Wildwood Recreation and Tourism’s Facebook page.
