CAPE MAY POINT – The list of communities banning short-term rentals in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak continues to grow.
According to an executive order, signed by Cape May Point Mayor Robert Moffatt, “in light of the current pandemic, and to further protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens, residents, and property owners of, and visitors to, the Borough of Cape May Point… all transient, seasonal and/or short-term rentals in the borough of Cape May Point are prohibited.”
The order is effective until May 22, 2020 and subject to modification or extension by the borough. It bans direct rentals and rentals through an intermediary or realtor.
Anyone violating the order, as well as those who aid or abet violations of it, are subject to arrest and prosecution as disorderly persons, the mayor’s order says.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
