STONE HARBOR — After passionate debate, mostly by business people who supported the erection of Peter Max’s artwork on Mylar to be placed around the borough’s water tower, Mayor Suzanne Walters, a plan proponent, voted yes, and thus broke a split council vote June 20. Max’s work, copies of which will benefit the Wetlands Institute, will lifted by crane, possibly Thursday, and will remain aloft until the Monday after the Wings N Water Festival in September. Voting to allow the artwork: Councilmembers Brian Levinson, Barry Mastrangelo, Karl Giulian and Walters. Voting against placement were Councilmembers Julian Miraglia, Anne Wannen, Randall Bauer.
