WHITESBORO – Neighborhood youngsters watched eagerly as Middle Township officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony July 11 at the West Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue junction of the municipality’s bicycle path. The event marked the completion and grand opening of the path’s Phase 4, which extends between Indian Trail Road and Main Street.
With its newest leg, the path extends approximately five miles from the Clarence and Georgiana Davies Sports Complex to South Dennisville Road near the Cape May County Zoo (Phase 1) through to Shellbay Avenue in Mayville (Phase 2), to Indian Trail Road (Phase 3), and now to Main Street in Whitesboro (Phase 4).

As of July 8, the Cape May County Open Space Board recommended $412,311 to fund the bicycle path south to the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal. The project has received $1.75 million in grant funding, according to a release.
