WOODBINE– An unidentified local man was injured in a fall at a construction site here on the 500 block of Adams Avenue on Friday, April 16 at around 5:30 p.m.
According to the victims family on scene the injured man reported to be 50-years-old, went over on his own accord to help the owner of the Palace Shop who was in the process of tearing down a section of the building in the rear of the store.
The owner of the shop Harry Labov said the man he knows as “Butch” cam over and just started helping without being asked and before he knew it someone said he fell.
Labov said he got right up and appeared to be uninjured with only a small cut on his face. “He got up and just said his muscles felt sore and then he walked over there and lit up a cigarette, he kept saying he was fine”.
Labov said the man then walked home which was across the street from his store and the next thing he know the street was filled with EMS and state police vehicles.
Belleplain Emergency Corps arrived on scene and requested a medevac to fly. According to radio reports the injured man was reported to have fallen ten feet onto concrete. The man was then transported to the Woodbine airport where Medevac 5 landed and transported the man to the trauma unit at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City.
The mans condition is unknown at this time.
