WOODBINE — New Jersey State Police responded to a one-car automobile accident on Thurs., Sept. 22.
According to police reports, borough resident Luis Cruz, 47, was traveling on Tyler Road when he lost control of his vehicle at mile marker 1, in Dennis Township.
Cruz’ vehicle then crossed the centerline, entering into the opposing lane of traffic. The vehicle then left the roadway, struck a utility pole, and spun clockwise, striking a tree on the driver’s side door.
Personnel from the Belleplain Emergency Service, Woodbine Volunteer Fire Department, and Dennisville Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene.
Cruz was found to be entrapped in the wreckage and the Jaws of Life were used to extract him from the vehicle.
Cruz was transported to Cooper University Medical Center in Camden with serious injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by Trooper J. Inserra.
