Wind Blown Trashcan Causes Motorcycle Accident

COURT HOUSE — On May 14, Middle Township police received a call of a single motorcycle crash on Shunpike Road.
Dennis Vaness, 56, of Court House, was traveling south on Shunpike Road when he struck a plastic trashcan that had blown into the street. Vaness suffered internal injuries as well as scrapes when he fell off his 2005 Honda VTX.
Court House Rescue transported him to Cape Regional Medical Center.
Police alternated traffic for about thirty minutes.
The weather was clear and windy with trashcans scattered throughout Court House, police said.
Cpl. Sittineri is investigating the crash.
