Villas Woman Flees Crash, Faces Charges

ERMA – Lower Township Police Department was dispatched to Warren Lane in Erma for the report of an overturned motor vehicle in the roadway July 28 at approximately 12:53 a.m. 
Upon arrival, Patrolman Felsing found a silver Chrysler PT Cruiser, overturned in the middle of the roadway.   
A witness in the area reported that she saw the lone occupant of the vehicle escape through the passenger window and leave the scene by means of another vehicle. 
Further investigation found that the overturned vehicle had struck a parked car. It was also found that Daniela K. Claxton, 28, of Villas, was the operator and had left the scene of the accident.
Claxton was issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, driving while suspended, reckless driving and obstructing an investigation. This matter is pending court.
Assisting in the accident was the Erma Volunteer Fire Company. This investigation was completed by Patrolman Jason Felsing of the Lower Township Police Department. 
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
